Bolivia is a small country in South America and even if a lot of people have heard of it, they do not know how beautiful it is and how many interesting things and places there are to see. Today we decided to tell you about the beauty of this country and that is why we have prepared a list of some of the top places you need to visit in Bolivia when you go there. #1 World’s Most Dangerous Road

The first place is called Yungas Road. In other words, this road is called the Most Dangerous Road. The road is extremely beautiful, but as its name suggests it is not suitable for people who get scared of heights.

The road goes through a part of the Amazon rainforest jungle in the mountain. The road goes around some very steep parts of the mountain, it climbs up and then descends once again.

The road is not a good friend to motor vehicles, but mountain bikers love it. If you still decide to visit it, you need to be extra careful.

#2 Sucre

If you are into history, then you definitely need to visit Sucre while you are in Bolivia. It is known as The City of Four Names, but still Sucre, which means “sugar” is the most famous one.

The city will offer you to have a glimpse in the Bolivian history beginning with its most famous building – La Casa de la Libertad. This is the place where Simón Bolívar wrote the Bolivian Constitution.

You can also visit the library where you can find documents dating back to the 15th century. And, of course, do not forget to take a look at the buildings there which will show you how the aristocratic families lived in the 16th century.

Basically there are a lot of thing to visit in Sucre, you only need to have the time to see them all.

#3 Oruro Carnival

The next thing you may have in mind before you visit Bolivia is its famous carnival Oruro. The dates of it change every year, but usually the carnival is held in February. It is not that well known, but it can show you Bolivia’s folklore and culture in just a week.

It it a really big carnival which features more than 40,00 performers, like dancers, musicians, and artists. If you decide to attend it, you will have the opportunity to see a lot of ethnic dances and costumes. You also need to pay attention to the opening of the carnival. It always starts with the devil dance, which is a kind of artistic expression that dates back to pre-colonial times. It is definitely an experience worth witnessing.

#4 Lake Titicaca

The next Bolivian destination in our list is one of the most famous lakes in the world. Lake Titicaca is the biggest lake in South America and it is also the highest one in the world. However, this is not the only thing that is interesting about the lake. It is thought that the Incas, one of the most famous tribes of South America, originated from the area. This is also where the original Copacabana is, which is a favorite vacation spot to a lot of people.

#5 Tiwanaku

The next place which you also should consider visiting when you go to Bolivia is Tiwanaku, an ancient city of the period before the colonization. It is located near the lake Titicaca which means that you can visit both places at the same time. Only a part of the city has been excavated but it is big enough to let its visitors learn a bit about the history of the place and its inhabitants.
