Let’s face it – we can’t all have huge, thick and natural volumized ponytail no matter how hard we try to tease our hair. A polished, pretty ponytail is the perfect look for busy women who don’t have a ton of time to spend on their hair. Unfortunately, it’s easy for a ponytail to go from wonderful to almost flat if your hair is slippery, not particularly thick, or if you move a lot throughout the day. One of the main problems with thin hair is that it falls flat and shapeless when it is in a ponytail. But now you can make your ponytail pop by using just two bobby pins. Here is how to give yourself that “wow” factor that will leave everyone asking what your secret is!
Step 1: Begin with a well brushed hair, clean and dry. Apply mouse to your hair, distributing the product throughout your hair. Next, grab your comb and give the ponytail a little lift by backcombing it. Simply hold a section of your hair straight upward, place the comb in the roots or at least next to the rubber band and apply firm brush strokes downward to the scalp. Use hairspray to secure the volume. Repeat the procedure with the next hair section until you’ve created an extra volume.
Step 2: Once you have put your hair in a high ponytail and added volume, flip your hair in front of your face and place two bobby pins vertically into your ponytail holder to give it a little extra lift. And always remember to use good quality bobby pins. It may be a little bit more expensive, but it will definitely make a huge difference!
Step 3: Flip your ponytail back for a fuller look that won’t droop for the rest of the day. For extra polish, take a small strand from the ponytail and wrap around the base to conceal the elastics. When you have covered the hair elastic, pin the end of the hair strand underneath your ponytail with a bobby pin roughly the same colour as your hair.
