If you need a formal updo but you don’t have the time or funds to get your hair professionally done, then this knotted looped braid is for you! If you love braids as much as we do, then prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by one of the most incredible braids we’ve ever seen. The style looks very impressive and a little intimidating, but it is not so hard once you know what to do. With a little time, patience, and practice, you too could join in on this trend and sport a beautiful knot in your hair! For a more polished finish, hair should on the straighter side, but it definitely works on curly hair too.
Step 1: Bring all your hair to the back. Divide two pieces. Wrap the pieces around the outside of the hair and tie in a knot. After the knot is tied, take the two pieces behind the larger section of hair and criss-cross them. Add a small section to each piece so they remain long and wrap and tie.
Step 2: Then, once the knot is tight, hold the two ends in your right hand and pull another piece of hair from the left side of your head, and create another knot with that piece and the section you were already holding in your right hand.
Step 3: Continue knotting and bringing the pieces to the back, adding a small section of hair to both pieces each time.
Step 4: Continue knotting, alternating from which side of your head you draw hair, all the way to your ends. Once you’ve reached the end, tie off with a hair elastic and gently tug on the knots to create a fuller braid. Use a couple of bobby pins to hold the knots in place or pin down any layers that are sticking out.
