By now, we’re all well aware that the half-up half-down hairstyle is very much the most popular hairstyle ever. It has been spotted everywhere for the past few months – beauty blogs, Instagram pictures, Pinterest pins, and even on glamorous red carpet events. Here is a little secret – you don’t need to go to the fancy hair salon and spend tons of money for a half-up half-down hairstyle look. This tutorial will show you how to create this stunning braided rose hairstyle in just 8 simple steps.
Step 1: Gather the crown section of your hair, pull it back and secure it into a loose ponytail.
Step 2: As shown on the picture, carefully slip your thumb and forefinger through the ponytail.
Step 3: With your fingers tangled between your hairs, grab the end of the ponytail.
Step 4: Pull the end through the hole, creating an inverse ponytail.
Step 5: Now, braid the inversed section of your ponytail. To make a beautiful braid, divide the hair into three strands. Cross the right strand over the centre strand and then cross the left strand over the centre strand. Following the same technique, continue braiding until you reach the end. Secure your lovely braid with clear hair elastic.
Step 6: Loosely pull on the edges of the braid to add volume in it.
Step 7: Continue pulling hair in the braid until it becomes extremely wide and flat.
Step 8: Grab your braid and roll it up to form a beautiful bun. For best results, start with a small circle and keep wrapping the braid around it. This way you should create a rose shaped bun. Next, use bobby pins to secure the braid in place. If you have heavier hair, you may need to use more pins to keep the braid from falling down. As you can see, this half-up half-down look can take you on a romantic getaway or get you through that important business meeting!
