Sweet and Marry Dessert Recipes for the Holidays
When the Christmas holidays come people tend to visit their families and friends more. And they usually have brunches, lunches, or dinners together. That is why one needs new, interesting, and easy dish recipes to surprise their guests with. After all, each one of these special visits should be accompanied by a special meal.
Today we decided to pay special attention to the sweetest meals of all, the desserts. And we have prepared for you a couple of recipes for you to surprise your guests with and make their lives a little bit sweeter. So, here they are!
#1 Chocolate Truffles in Cups
½ cup of liquid chocolate
1 teaspoon of sugar
First you need to get the eggs and to separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. Put them in two different bowls.
Then mix the liquid chocolate with the egg yolks and whisk them well together. You can use a mixer but it is not necessary for this step.
You will need the mixer, however, to whisk the egg whites. Whisk them for a minute or so and then add the teaspoon of sugar. Continue mixing them until they turn into white sweet thick cream.
After that you need to mix the two mixtures together. Make sure you stir them well and you need to have something like a liquid-y brown paste.
The next thing you need to do is to get small cups where you will bake the truffles. The cups need to be small ones so there is more of truffles.
Then spread some butter on the inner sides of the cups. Then sprinkle some cocoa powder again on the inner part of the cups. And lastly pour the truffles mixture in the cups.
Bake them for about 17 minutes at 190 0C. And voila, the truffles are ready to be served!
#2 Red Velvet Candy
2 cups of water
¼ cup of sugar
4 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of flour
1 cup of red velvet cake mix
8 ounces of cream cheese
½ cup of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
First you need to get a deep cooking pot and boil the cups of water. Then add the ¼ cup of sugar and the butter. Stir them well together and wait for the butter and the sugar to melt completely. Then add the flour and the velvet cake mix. Stir the mixture well once again. Make sure you continue stirring until it turns into thick pinkish-red paste. And when this happens you need to turn off the hot plate and take the pot off it.
Then when the pot is no longer on the hot plate, add the eggs into the mixture and mix it with all the ingredients. At this point the mixture would be moldable so you can create different shapes with it. Or you could simply make the dough into rectangular pieces. You only need to make sure they are not flat, but a little bit rounded.
Get a baking tin and line it with some cooking paper. Put the molded dough pieces on top of it and then put the tin in the freezer to chill for half an hour. Then get the tin out of the freezer and remove the cookies from the tin.
Heat some cooking oil in a pot and deep-fry each of the cookies for about 3-4 minutes. When they are ready leave them aside to cool down.
The next thing you need to do is to remove the inner part of the cookies, to make them empty inside. You can use the help of a straw here. When you do this with all the cookies, roll them in some cinnamon sugar. Leave them aside for now.
Now put the cream cheese in a bowl. Mix it with the powdered sugar and the vanilla extract. Stir the mixture well until it turns into thick cream.
Fill the velvet cake cookies with the cream cheese mixture. And voila, your cookies are ready!
Enjoy your desserts and have a cozy merry Christmas!
