Soft Smoky Makeup Using Blue Hues

Soft Smoky Makeup Using Blue Hues

A smoky eye is one of the most popular makeup looks, but it can also be the most daunting to create and the hardest to get right. Not all smoky eye creations need to be dark and intense – you can create a unique eye look using just a hint of blue shadow that adds dimension to your eyes. Now this is the smoky eyes that never go out of style!

Step 1: Apply primer all over your eyelid to prepare the skin for the makeup application. To highlight your brow bone, use a soft white or cream colour directly under the eyebrow along the arch.

Step 2: Add creamy foundation or powder to the eyelid. For creating a more even finish over minor skin discolorations, a light to medium coverage will do the trick.

Step 3: Darken the crease line and the outer part of your eyelid with a blue shadow and blend upward using a damp brush. If you want the makeup to be more intense, simply add more colour on top. If needed, erase any shadow mistakes without ruining your makeup. To do so, simply dip a cotton swab in concealer, and then skim it over the skin. The concealer will pick up shadow without smudging.

Step 4: Then, apply pink, peach or brown colour on top. This creates more depth and really plays up the smokiness of the look.

Step 5: With the same brush outline your lower lash line with blue shadow. To do this, gently run your brush from the inner corner and finish it all the way to the outer corner. After that, apply a shimmer powder to the inner corners of the eyes to lighten the overall effect.

Step 6: Last but not least, add several coats of your long-lasting mascara to wrap up the final soft smoky eye makeup effect.
