Some beauty artists claim that different eye shapes warrant different eyeliner techniques. Well, not necessarily. If you don’t have any shadow on hand or have a bunch of colored liners you have no idea what to do with, fret not. With this tutorial and these simple steps, you’ll be mastering the simple eyeshadow trick for ultimate makeup perfection!
Step 1: Staying as close to your lash line as possible, gently draw a line with the pencil straight across from the middle to the outer corner of your eye towards your eyebrow. To determine the ideal angle of your wing, simply line your eyeliner from the outer corner to the tail of your brow. Visually measure how far the wing should go. Then, slowly swipe the pencil from the outer corner of your eye towards the end of your eyebrow. The more firmly you press down with your pencil, the darker your wing will be.
Step 2: Now, carefully extend the wing into the opposite way – towards the inner corner. Do not focus on perfection here as you will be smudging the pencil colour later on. Remember to leave some space between the darker shade and your brow bone.
Step 3: Here’s where the smudging begins! Use your fingertip to gently blend the pencil shade across your eyelid, focusing on the outer part of your eye – this is where you have packed the colour on.
Step 4: Lastly, apply mascara. For the top lashes, use back-and-forth motions to distribute the color. When it comes to the bottom lashes, switch to a waterproof formula as it works best on lower lashes, preventing the color from smudging. Now, here is a bonus tip: use different eye pencil shades to fill in sections of your eye, and then blend to perfection using an eye shadow brush. This is a makeup move that is turning heads and shaking up the scene!
