A pull through braid is perfect for people who are braid-challenged, there’s no braiding required only ponytails! And the best part of it is that you don’t need any braiding skills or specific hairstyle tools to recreate this amazing look!
It may look complicated but if you follow the steps one at a time, you will find it totally doable. The tutorial works best with longer hair that has long or no layers, but if you have shorter hair, you may try it out anyway and see how it goes!
Step 1: Start with damp, towel-dried hair and spray a moisturizing base product loosely from root to end. Then take your salt spray or texturizing lotion and apply a small amount to the mid-section and scrunch it. This should add a little bit of texture to your hair.
Step 2: Then, tease your crown section to add volume.
Step 3: Create your first ponytail. Take a section of hair right on top of your head and secure it with a clear rubber band.
Step 4: Add another clear rubber band below the first one and make a hole in your hair between the two elastics.
Step 5: Pull the section from each side of your head, making another small pony below the first one.
Step 6: Pull the second ponytail through the hole you just made in the first pony.
Step 7: Now, combine the ponytails with elastic.
Step 8: Like you did before, make a hole in the new ponytail using your finger.
Step 9: Then, pull another section from each side and continue the process.
Step 10: When you reach the end and you have no more sections to pull from the side, simply separate the pony in two and bring the bottom section through the hole until you get to the end of your hair.
Step 11: Last but not least, gently pull on the edges to make it fuller.
