Places to Visit in India in November

November is one of the months which is a bit depressing since there are not that many festivals and holidays during it. It seems like one very long month before December. Some people do not like it that much because it is cold and there is nothing special during it, apart from Thanksgiving Day.

So, if you want not to feel sad or depressed during the month, you can travel. Just pick a destination with good enough weather at this time of the year, or one with some interesting festivals and set off. November is a great month to visit it since the weather there is good at this time of the year and there are also some interesting festivals which you can visit and which can help you learn more about the country’s traditions and rituals. Here are the places we have listed for you!

#1 Pushkar Fair

Pushkar fair is a very interesting event which you could visit if you want to have some fun time. The dates of the fair vary every year. This year the fair will be held from 28th October to 6th November. As you can guess from the name of the very fair, it takes place in Pushkar which is one of the oldest cities in India.

The place has a cultural and religious importance for the country. There is a holy lake, called Pushakar lake. It is surrounded by a lot of temples and it is pretty and cute and if you go there, you should definitely visit it.

As for the very fair, it is a Camel Fair. If you attend it, you will have the opportunity to see a camel market where a lot of camels are sold. You will also have the chance to see camel races, people dressed in traditional Indian gowns. You can try traditional Indian food and even witness some dancing. The whole atmosphere of the fair is festive and lively.

#2 Observe Bengal Tigers in West Bengal

The next place which you can visit in India during the month of November is West Bengal to try Bengal tiger-watching in their natural habitat. You have probably heard about this kind of tiger. It is one of the most famous ones.

The exact place which you need to visit in West Bengal is Sundarbans where one of the biggest national parks in India is located. And observing tigers is not the only thing to do there. You can also see wild boars, deers, foxes, and a lot of beautiful birds. You can also go on a boat ride and a long walk in the nature.

#3 Ganga Festival by the river banks

The next place which you should visit in India if you are there in November is Ganda festival. This is a festival which is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh by the banks of the river Ganges. It is held during the last week of the month and it is one of the most significant music festivals in India.

There is one thing for sure, if you attend it, you will learn plenty of things about the country’s culture. While you are there, you could also visit Sarnath Museum and Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Do not forget to take a bath in Ganges and to go on a boat ride.

#4 Visit the Golden City, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan

The next place which you can visit in India at this time of the year is the Golden City, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. It is located near the boarder with Pakistan. You can go on a camel ride in the desert there and the great thing about it is that the weather will not be as hot as it is in the summer which means that you will enjoy it better.

You can visit some of the traditional old houses and you will find out why the city is called The Golden one. You should not miss to visit some of its famous forts and palaces as well. You could have relaxing evenings by the lake and enjoy the cool weather. You could definitely have a relaxing time there.
