How to Stop Worrying and Start Living


Nowadays it seems that there are a lot of people who do not know how to enjoy themselves and their lives. They tend to worry too much about even minor problems and this gets in their way of happiness. Apart from that worrying too much about your problems leads to a lot of stress and stress leads to a lot of health problems.

And is this a good life, to worry about everything and not to be able to enjoy your life? So how to stop worrying so much and to start enjoying life more? Here are a couple of things you could do if you want to stop worrying so much and start living a good life.

#1 Ask yourself “Would this matter in 10 year?”

The first thing you could do if you are under a lot of stress and you worry about something is to ask yourself a simple question “Would this problem matter in 10 years”, or “Would it matter in 5 years?” You can imagine yourself in 5-10 years’ time and you will see the real size of your problem.

If it is not so big of a problem that you would not notice it at all in some years, then why to worry about at the moment?! So, take a deep breath and try to additionally relax. If this does not help, you could try some of the other subsequent tips in the list.

#2 Breathe deeply

The other thing you can do if you want to calm yourself down quickly you can try this little trick – breathing. Breathing can help you a lot in calming down. All you need to do is to take deep breaths slowly. While you are breathing in, count to 5, and then breathe out counting down.

Continue doing this breathing technique for a couple of minutes, try to do it for 5 minutes. This will slow down your pulse and it will help you feel more relaxed. Whenever you feel tensed you can try this breathing technique. It will help you relax.

#3 Talk to somebody

The next thing you can do in order to stop worrying is to share your problem with a friend, or a family member. If you keep your worries to yourself, there is a chance that you would worry even more.

And if you share your problem with someone, it will make you feel better. They can give you some advice and can show you another point of view to the problem. If you continue holding everything, especially worries, it would be worse for you.That is why you definitely need to consider calming yourself down like this.

#4 Take some time

The next thing which you can do to stop worrying is simply to take some time to think about the situation. You should not suppress the memory because it will continue being in your mind and you will not be able to calm down.

So what you can do in such situation is to take some time to think about the situation. Do not suppress the memory but just think about it calmly. It is better to take some time and relax without forcing yourself to forget about the problem immediately.

#5 Do some exercises

If you are worried about something you will hardly be able to stand still and there is a reason for that. You can do some physical activity, like sports, running, and so on, so that you can exhaust your body. Your mind will also feel freer once you do some exercises.

You will have a better perspective of the situation because you will also freshen up your mind. If your body feels good, your mind will also feel better because there is a connection between the brain and the body.
