How to Become a Better Version of Yourself

Everyone wants to become the best version of themselves, but few actually do it. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to achieving success, chasing our dreams, and living a life that’s filled with passion and purpose. The initial step towards becoming the best version of yourself knows your ideal self very well. The best way to do that is to make a persona of your ideal self. The more exactly, accurately and sooner you know your ideal self, the easier you will get there. This is why we have decided to give you some ideas when you are clarifying and brainstorming your ideal self.

Stop blaming or criticizing others, even in your mind

When you see yourself as a victim of circumstances, it creates a sense of helplessness. There is a common belief that if you are sad, miserable, or unhappy, someone has to be responsible for it, and therefore blamed for it. It is easier to blame others for your shortcomings than it is to take responsibility for them. You have to work with what you’ve got, and make things better for yourself. If you are not happy with your current job, then you need to stop complaining or blaming anyone for this. Go out and look for a second job, or a new job, or starting something on the side. When you feel in control of your life and capable of making changes and improvements, however, it can increase your sense of happiness. The right thing to do is to start crediting yourself and others for any happy moments or any steps taken to become happier! Work against this human tendency to gravitate toward negativity. Instead, stop making assumptions and find the positive aspects, traits, or qualities of the people in your circles.

Exercise even if you have a busy schedule.

We all know by now that maintaining an active lifestyle should be one of our top priorities in life. Other than health benefits too numerous to mention, exercise makes you smarter, happier, improves sleep, increases libido and makes you feel better about your body. It’s easy to feel motivated about the idea of exercising. Let’s all run marathons! But somehow, a lot of our plans get messed up sometimes that there is barely any time left to fit an exercise into our busy routine. For starters, you should stop thinking that 24 hours are not enough to do everything. There is always time to sneak a workout into your super busy schedule even if this means that you have to exercise for just 30 minutes a day. Sometimes you don’t need or even 30 minutes to get a complete, effective workout. Some efficient exercises are virtually always better than none!

Start eating healthier food and abandon junk food altogether.

Switching to a healthier diet can be incredibly tricky when we are surrounded by cheap junk food. However, with a good amount of determination and some basic tips you can slowly develop healthier eating habits. As many say, you are what you eat, so eat healthy! This is very important if you want to become a better version of yourself. The best way to control what goes into your body is making the food yourself. Eat fresh, nutritious, healthy and low-fat food and always avoid junk food. Try to consume more vegetables and fruits. They are so low in calories that it is very difficult to gain weight eating them. Adding a lot of vegetables and fruits to your daily meal will certainly keep you feel full longer and make you look slimmer. You can also eat beans, chicken, fish, yogurt, and dairy products.

Stop procrastinating and do what you are supposed to do.

The biggest barrier that keeps most people from becoming the better version of themselves is the desire to relax and do something fun instead of working hard. There is time for everything. If you didn’t achieve your goals, procrastination was the likely culprit. Stop telling yourself that you simply don’t have the time to work on your dreams. Just get up and start doing what you are supposed to! It is as simple as that.
