Ah, chocolate… probably the sweetest and most loved dessert all over the world. If a person mentions you that they do not like chocolate, you will just not believe your ears. It is like if somebody tells you that they do not like French fries. It is like a shock. There are foods that everybody just have to love. Well, if you are not one of the rare cases that do not like chocolate, then you will love this extremely delicious recipe for homemade chocolate! You will know what the ingredients are and so you will not be afraid that some of the ingredients are not healthy, or that you or some of your family or friends could be allergic to them. And speaking of your friends, be careful with how much you offer them so that you can also be able to take a bite. So, if you are already curious, here is the recipe for the homemade chocolate!
If you have ever read the ingredients on the back of chocolate bar package, then you will not be surprised to find the same ingredients in this recipe, after all we are making chocolate. So, you may already have the ingredients in your kitchen. Here is what you will need. And one small tip before that, do not neglect the amount of the ingredients thinking that that if you put less of more of it, the results will be the same. No, they will never be the same.
Cocoa powder – 220 grams (2 cups)
Milk – 150 ml (or 2/3 of a cup)
Sugar – 120 grams (1/2 of a cup, or you can also use powdered sugar)
Butter – 160 grams (3/4 of a cup, or about one package of butter)
Water – one cup (230 ml)
Flour – 30 grams (1/4 of a cup)
As you can see, it is not very difficult to find the ingredients. They are so simple that every grocery store, if not every kitchen, would have them. And yet they create something so delicious. Now when you already have the ingredients, it is time to make the chocolate.
Except from the ingredients, you will also need some cooking utensils, like a bowl, where to mix all the ingredients, and a big spoon with which to mix them.
First, take the cocoa powder and put all of it in the bowl. Make sure that the powder is very fine, if not, you may need to sift it. Once you are sure that it is nice and sifted enough, get the butter and put it in the bowl with the cocoa powder. And as you can imagine, you have to mix these two products. Since the butter, however, does not melt easily if it is not heated, it will be a little difficult to do this, so just use a blender, or if you do not have one, a mixer. The important thing is that in the end you have fine cocoa paste. It will take you just a minute or two to mix them together.
Ones your paste is ready, leave it aside and get a small pot. Then pour the water in it and then put the paste in the water. Be careful not to get messy while you are pouring it. Put it over the stove and heat it. It has to be hot, but not boiling. While you are waiting for it to be ready, just use a spoon to mix it. Then get it off the stove and pour the content into the bowl once again.
Add the milk, the flour, and the sugar in the mixture while it is still hot. The next thing is very important, mix it well, either by hand or with a mixer, until there are no lumps. And when you are finally satisfied with the way it looks, put it in the fridge for the night. The next morning you may already take a bite of it while you are drinking your coffee. Bon appetite!
