Healthy Dessert Recipes for the Summer

Summer is the season when people try to lose weight the most. This is, of course, because they show a lot of skin in the summer and when they go to the beach they have to show their beach bodies. That is often why a lot of people decide to change their diet and take less calories than usual. People often think that desserts contain a lot of calories and they need to avoid them. This is not 100% true, especially when it comes to healthy desserts.

To show you that, we have prepared for you a couple of dessert recipes which are also perfect for the summer. And yes, they contain a lot of fruits. Check them out and have your healthy desserts!

#1 Banana Ice-cream

The first recipe we have prepared for you is a typical summer one – ice-cream. This is a delicious way to cool down during the hot season. Many people think that ice-cream is caloric, but this is not that true if you prepared it yourself and add some healthy ingredients.

Ingredients:

3 bananas

1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter

1 ½ tablespoons of mini chocolate chips

a blender

Directions:

First you need to peel the bananas and put them in a zipper plastic bag. Close the bag and freeze them in the freezer. It may take you about an hour or less depending on your freezer.

Then take out the frozen bananas from the zipper bag and put them in the blender. Blend them until they turn into a mash.

Then pour the mash into a big plastic box with a lid and add the peanut butter in it as well. Mix the two ingredients together. You will only need a spoon to do so but you have to stir a little bit harder.

Close the bow with the lid and put it in the fridge to freeze. In an hour or so take the box off the freezer and add the chocolate chips in the mixture. Put the mixture back in the freezer but this time it is not necessary to wait for it an hour. Half an hour or less would do the job.

And lastly you need to take the ice-cream out of the freezer and serve it. If you want you could garnish it with some biscuit if it is not too caloric for you to have it with ice-cream.

And your dessert is ready!

#2 Watermelon and yogurt dessert

If the first recipe was one of the most popular summer desserts, the next one is one consists of one of the most popular summer fruits around the world – watermelon. Here is a sweet and healthy recipe for watermelon dessert with yogurt.

Ingredients:

1 small watermelon

plain whole milk yogurt

a cup of blueberries

1 kiwi fruit

1 cup of strawberries

a couple of tablespoons of honey

Directions:

First you need to get the watermelon and cut in into round pieces which need to be about 2-3 centimeters wide. Of course, some of the pieces will be smaller than the others but try to make them more or less equally wide.

Then get the yogurt and apply a big spoonful of it on top of a piece of watermelon. Spread it evenly on it and make sure you cover the surface completely.

Then wash the blueberries and the strawberries. Sprinkle 10 or so pieces of blueberries on top of the watermelon piece with yogurt on top and make sure you spread them equally on the surface.

Then cut the strawberries into small pieces which need to be more or less as big as the blueberries. Sprinkle a spoonful of the strawberry pieces on the piece of watermelon as well and make sure they are not on top of the blueberries, but next to them.

Then wash the kiwi fruit without peeling it. You could peel it if you like but this way it will not be as healthy. Then cut it into small pieces. Put them on the spots of the watermelon surface where no fruit pieces are.

Then apply some honey on top and cut the round piece of watermelon in 4 equal other pieces. Do the same with the rest of the watermelon round pieces and you are ready. You may serve the dessert!
