There are a lot of people who like chicken meat and are used to having only such type of dishes that they are not much willing to experiment with other types of meat. In fact, it is often said that beef could be even healthier than chicken. It does not contain many fats and it contains healthy ingredients.
To show you that beef could b e quite delicious, we have prepared for you a couple of ground beef dinner recipes to try this week. Check them out!
#1 Tomato sauce and mozzarella stuffed meatballs
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of mild Italian sausage
1 cup of bread crumbs
¼ cup of Parmesan
7 cups of crushed tomatoes
2×1/3 cup of onion
2 cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons of dried basil
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of onion powder
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
2x½ teaspoon of pepper
2x½ teaspoon of salt
First you need to get a slow cooker. Then pour in it the cups of crushed tomatoes. Then chop the onion and add a third of a cup in the slow cooker as well. Chop thinly the garlic cloves and add them into the cooker. Season them with the dried basil, the dried oregano, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper.
Stir the mixture together to season it evenly. Then you need to cook it at high temperature for half an hour. Meanwhile you could move on to preparing the meatballs.
Now get a big bowl and mix in it the ground beef and the Italian sausage. Sprinkle the bread crumbs on top on the meat mixture. Then add the other 1/3 cup of chopped onions. And then add the ¼ cup of Parmesan.
Season the mixture with the onion powder, the garlic powder, the dried thyme, the dried oregano, and the other half teaspoon of salt and half teaspoon of black pepper. Finally add the two raw eggs.
Then mix everything together to make a homogeneous mixture. If you want, you can mix it with your hands as well. Then, then the mixture is all equally seasoned, get a handful of it and create a ball of it. Put a piece of mozzarella in it and shape it some more into a ball. Do the same with the rest of the mixture. And then put the balls into the slow cooker with the half prepared tomato sauce.
Continue cooking the dish for 2½ hours at high temperature. When the time is up the dish will be ready to be served.
#2 Ground Beef Stuffed Peppers
1 pound ground beef
4 big peppers
3 ounces of feta cheese
¾ cup of chopped red onions
¼ cup of chopped parsley
¼ cup of chopped mint
¼ cup olives
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
First you need to get a big bowl. Mix in it the ground beef and the feta cheese. Then add the chopped red onions, the parsley, the mint, and the olives. Sprinkle some salt and pepper to your taste and mix the ingredients well. You may need to mash the mixture a little. For this purpose you may need to use a spoon.
When the mixture is ready, you will need to clean the peppers. Cut a cap on top of each pepper and scrape the inside part of it to remove it. This way you will make room for the stuffing and you will remove the part of the peppers that it is better not to have.
Then stuff the ground beef mixture into the peppers and then put the cap you have cut back on them. After this you need to bake the peppers.
Get a baking tin and line it with some baking paper. Put the stuffed peppers in the tin and then bake them for 40-45 minutes at 200 0C in the oven. When the time is up, you can remove the tin from the oven and you can serve the peppers.
