There are a lot of people who love seafood because it is exotic and interesting, but there is also another reason for this – it is very healthy. There are other people who think that they do not like seafood, but this is only because they probably have not tried any really good recipes. Today we have decided to share with you some delicious and easy seafood recipes with one main ingredient – shrimps. Try them out!
#1 Shrimp tacos
The first recipe is an interesting interpretation of the traditional Mexican tacos – shrimp tacos. Here is the recipe!
2 pounds shrimp
a package of flatbread
1 ½ cups of green cabbage
1 ½ cups of red cabbage
2 tablespoons of spring onions
1 cup sour cream
3 tablespoon cilantro
1 teaspoon lime zest
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon salt
First you need to cook the shrimps. Put them in a big bowl and season them with the paprika, the garlic powder, oregano and cumin. Finally add the red pepper flakes and ½ tablespoon of salt. Make sure you mix all the shrimps with the ingredients so there are not some left that are too salty and others less seasoned.
Once you have seasoned the shrimps, you need to grill them. You could do it by putting each shrimp one by one on the grill, or you could grill three shrimps by putting them on a chopstick.
Another important thing you need to do while grilling them is to apply some olive oil on them. It will take you about 3 minutes to grill the shrimps on each side.
And when they are nicely grilled on the first side, flip them over and grill them on the second side. You also need to apply some olive oil on the second side of the shrimps so they do not stick on the grill.
When the shrimps are cooked, remove them from the grill and put them aside in a bowl while you are making the sauce for the tacos.
Now get the cup of sour cream and mix it with the chopped cilantro. Add the lime zest, the lime juice, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Mix them all well. And then leave this sauce aside.
Now get a big bowl and put in it the green cabbage. It is best to cut it in lines beforehand. Then add the red cabbage which also needs to be cut beforehand. Then get the spring onion and chop it into small pieces. Add half of the sour cream sauce in the bowl and then mix all the ingredients well. And you are almost done.
You need to get a piece of flatbread. Put in the center the cabbage salad, on top of it a couple of shrimps and pour a tableful of the sour cream sauce. You could add extra cilantro and lemon juice if you want. And this is it!
#2 Shrimp Pasta
8 ounces of linguini
1 ¼ pounds of shrimps
4 cups of baby spinach
4 cloves of garlic
¼ cup of parmesan
1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
a pinch of dried oregano
salt to taste
pepper to taste
First you need to cook the linguini. Boil a little of water and add some salt in it. Cook the linguini. When they are ready, drain the water and leave the linguini aside.
Now get a deep pan and heat the olive oil in it. When it is heated enough, add the garlic cloves. If you prefer, you may chop them beforehand. Then add the red pepper flakes and stir the mixture.
Let it simmer for a minute and then add the shrimps. Season them with salt and pepper before you mix them with the rest of the ingredients. Then add the dried oregano and mix the ingredients well again.
Without taking the pan off the hot plate, add the spinach and then the linguini. Then add the butter and the parmesan. Mix all the ingredients well. The butter will melt and the spinach will shrink almost in half. Lastly, add the lemon juice and mix it with the rest of the ingredients.
And the dish is ready! Serve it while it is still hot. You may garnish each portion of linguini with some fresh cilantro.
