Delicious Ham Recipes You Need to Try This Winter

 

Nowadays people are obsessed with eating healthy. They do not eat fatty meals, especially no fried ones. This is great and it really helps a person stay fresh and healthy and beautiful. Sometimes, however, one needs to have some carbohydrates in their meals just to be able to enjoy the tastiness of these foods.

If you are in such kind of period when you really want to try something caloric and extremely delicious, then you may give these recipes with ham a try. They are just as gorgeous as they sound!

#1 Ham and Cheese Bread

Ingredients:

1 pizza dough
3 cups of mozzarella cheese
3 cups of cheddar cheese
10 slices of ham
1 cup of softened butter
6 garlic cloves
6 tablespoons of chopped parsley
salt to taste
a couple of pinches of flour

Directions:

Step 1

First you need to chop the garlic cloves very thinly and also to chop the parsley if you do not have some ready one. Then you will need to open some space on the kitchen table and to sprinkle a couple of pinches of flour on it.

Then get the pizza dough and put it on the table. Start spreading it with your hands first and then get a rolling pin to make the dough thinner and even on each side. Make sure you make it in a rectangular shape.It may take a little time.

Step 2

Once you are satisfied with the shape and thickness of the dough, you need to get the softened butter, which could be a little bit melted even. Put it in a bowl and then add the chopped garlic and the chopped parsley.

Add some salt to your taste, more or less half a teaspoon. Then using a fork mix all the ingredients in the bowl well so it all turns into a thick white paste.

Step 3

Now using a spatula spread all the butter-garlic sauce on top of the pizza dough. Spread it evenly everywhere. Then you need to get the mozzarella and the cheddar cheese.

Start sprinkling them on the dough without mixing the two types of cheese. You could sprinkle one row with mozzarella cheese and then one with parmesan one.

Step 4

Then get the 10 slices of ham and cut them in halves so you can make them 20. Put each half piece on top of the dough with slight space in between the pieces. Then you will need a sharp knife or a pizza cutter in order to cut the pizza dough into evenly big pieces. Make sure the ham pieces are complete.

Step 5

Once you have cut the dough into evenly big pieces, start putting them one on top of the other, but no more than 4 pieces on top of each other. In the end you will have 5 piles of 4 pieces.

Get a deep and narrow baking tin and cover the bottom and the sides of it with baking paper. Then put the 5 piles of pizza dough in the baking tin lining it with the sides up.

Step 6

The last thing you need to do is to bake the pizza bread for 35 minutes at 4000 C. After the time passes, you need to take the dish out of the oven. Leave it aside to cool down a little and then you can remove the whole of it with the baking paper from the tin.

You can slice it into pieces and serve it with some ketchup or tomato sauce as a side dish. And you are done! Enjoy your meal!

#2 Pineapple and Maple Ham

Ingredients:

1.7 kilos of gammon joint
3 liters and 125 milliliters of pineapple juice
2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
125 milliliters of maple syrup
2 onions

Directions:

Step 1

First you need to get a deep pot and to put the whole gammon joint in it. Then peel the onions and cut them into 4 big pieces each. Put them inside the pot with the gammon. Then get the 3 liters of pineapple juice and add them into the pot. Put the pot on the hotplate and let it simmer for 70 minutes.

Step 2

After this time is up, remove the pot from the hotplate and take the gammon out of the pot. Put in on top of a baking tin which needs to be lined with aluminum foil beforehand.

Step 3

Now get a small pan and heat the Dijon mustard in it. Add into the pan the remaining 125 milliliters of pineapple juice and the maple syrup. Stir the three ingredients nicely together. And let the mixture start boiling. Right after that take it off the hotplate.

Step 4

The next thing you need to do is to remove the skin from the gammon joint, leaving only meat there. You also need to make cuts on top of it and maybe on the sides. Make sure they are neither too big, nor too deep.

Using a cooking brush apple the pineapple-maple syrup all over the gammon. The cuts will allow the sauce to get inside it a little.

Step 5

Finally, you need to roast the gammon in the oven for 40 minutes at 1900 C by glazing it halfway through. When the time passes, take it out of the oven. And voila, it is done! Enjoy!
