There are a lot of people who avoid cooking because they think it would take them too much time, or that they would not be able to prepare the dishes if the recipes are too difficult. Well, today we have decided to show you that there are recipes that can be delicious, healthy, and easy to prepare.
The main ingredient we have chosen for this is bacon. Bacon is easy to cook and it does not need extra fat to be cooked with because it has its own natural one. So, check out the recipes and give them a try!
Bacon and Lettuce Salad
4 bacon strips
1 romaine lettuce
2 cups of cherry tomatoes
4 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon of mustard
1 teaspoon of salt
the juice from 1 lemon
First you need to get a non-stick pan and to heat it. Put the bacon strips in it and wait until it starts sizzling. Then turn it round and bake it on the other side. You need to bake it evenly on both sides and you should also not add extra cooking oil.
When the bacon is heated enough the fat in it will melt and it will serve as a cooking oil for the bacon. When the bacon is nicely baked on both sides, it has to turn brownish-reddish, you need to take the bacon out of the pan.
Put the pieces on some kitchen paper to absorb some of the extra fat left on the bacon. Let it cool down for some time until you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Now you need to wash the romaine lettuce and then cut it in pieces. Some people prefer to tear lettuces, different kinds of such, with their hands because it makes the taste more natural and fresher. Then put all the lettuce pieces in a big bowl.
Then wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in halves. Since they are very small, you would not need to cut them in smaller pieces. And put the pieces into the big bowl as well.
After that you need to wash the cucumber and if you want you can peel it. Then cut the cucumber in half vertically and then cut the two halves into crescent pieces. You can leave them this way or you can cut the crescent pieces in halves as well. Then add them into the bowl.
Now get the two avocados and cut them in halves vertically. Remove the stones and scrape the flesh from the peel. Dice the flesh and add it into the bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
And then it would be the time to add the bacon into the salad. Cut it into pieces and add it into the bowl. Mix the ingredients a little and then move on to preparing the dressing.
You need to get a smaller bowl and mix in it the olive oil, the balsamic vinegar, the mustard, the lemon juice from a lemon and the salt. Mix them well until the salt melts. Then pour the dressing evenly in the salad and mix it once again well.
And voila, the salad is ready to be served!
1 sweet onion
4 bacon slices
8 ounces of mushrooms
1 ½ cups of Arborio rice
½ cup of white wine
5 cups of chicken stock
½ cup of parmesan cheese
First you need to peel the sweet onion and chop it. If you like big pieces, you could it into that. Then get the bacon strips and cut them into pieces. Get a deep pan and heat it. Add the onion and bacon pieces in it and mix them. It is best to use non-stick pan.
Then get the mushrooms and cut them into pieces. They could be as big as the bacon pieces. Add them into the pan as well and mix them with the rest of the ingredients.
In a minute or so add the rice and the wine into the pan. Mix them together with the other ingredients.
And after this you need to add the chicken stock gradually. Add half of it then stir the mixture, and then add the other half and again stir the mixture.
Continue stirring the mixture until the liquid almost evaporates and it becomes thick.
Then add the parmesan cheese and stir it together with the rest of the mixture. When all the ingredients are nicely mixed and the parmesan has melted a little, you need to remove the pan from the hot plate.
And voila, the dish will be ready! You can serve it sprinkled with some fresh parsley on top.
