Thanksgiving is one of the most favorite holidays to all Americans. It is a time in the year when the whole family gathers and has reasons to be thankful. Cooking is an activity that brings people together and leads to laughter and time well-spent.

Today we have decided to share with you some easy and delicious Thanksgiving appetizer ideas to try on the holiday. The great part is that these recipes are easy to follow so even if you or someone in your family do not have a lot of experience in cooking, will not find difficulties following them. So, if you are ready, here are the appetizer recipes!

#1 Bacon rolls

The first appetizer in the list is perfect for people who love bacon. The two main ingredients in the recipe are bacon and brussels sprouts.

Ingredients (for 1 portion):

6 pieces of bacon

6 pieces of brussel sprouts

2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup

black pepper to taste

Directions:

Get the bacon and a cooking brush. Dip the brush into the maple syrup and after that apply it on the bacon pieces evenly. Sprinkle some black pepper on the same side you have applied the syrup and then get the brussels sprouts. Roll each one of the pieces in the bacon pieces, rolling inwards the side of the bacon you have applied maple syrup and pepper.

Then again using the cooking brush, apply some more maple syrup on top of the bacon rolls and then sprinkle them with black pepper to taste. Once you are done with this, you need to get a baking tin and to line it with baking paper. Put the bacon rolls on the tin with some distance between them. Bake them at 180 0C for about 20-25 minutes.

When the bacon rolls are ready, they will have a delicious darker red color. Serve them either warm, or cold, according to your preferences and, of course, time. And your first appetizer is ready!

#2 Onion rings and green beans

The next recipe is also quite easy and fast to, but you should be careful if you decide to do it there could be some of your guests that do not like onions and this is the main ingredient in the appetizer. So, it would be best if you prepare at least 2 appetizers.

Ingredients (for 6 pieces):

12 frozen onion rings

1 can of green beans
1 can of cream mushroom soup

½ cup of fried onions

Directions:

Get a big bowl and put in it the green beans. If they are not cut, or are cut in big pieces, you may have to cut the beans in smaller pieces. Then mix the beans with the can of cream mushroom soup and the fried onions. Make sure you mix all the ingredient well together.

Then get a baking tin and line it with baking paper. Put 6 frozen onion rings on the tin with some distance between them. Then put a spoonful of the bean mixture on top of each one of the onion rings. Do not worry if some of the mixture falls on the tin.

Then put the other 6 onion rings on top of the first ones but do not press them too much together. Then put another spoonful of the mixture on top of the newly-placed onion rolls. Bake the appetizers for about 20-25 minutes at 180 0C. When they are ready, you can serve them.

#3 Sweet potato bites

Ingredient:

1 big sweet potato

3 tablespoons of melted butter

3 tablespoons of maple syrup

½ teaspoon of salt

½ teaspoon of pepper

marshmallows (a piece for each one of the bites)

Directions:

First you need to peel the potato and slice it into thin pieces. Put the pieces in a big bowl and mix them with the melted butter and the maple syrup. After that season the potato pieces with the salt and the pepper you have prepared for the recipe. Then you will need a cupcake pan. Apply some olive oil on the bottom of the pan and then put sweet potato pieces in each one of the pan shapes until you fill them up.

Put some foil on top of the pan and bake the potatoes at 180 0C for about 20 minutes. When the time is up, remove the pan from the oven and remove the foil. Put a marshmallow piece on each one of the potato “piles”. Put the pan back in the oven, but this time without the foil and continue baking them for 1 more minute. Be careful while removing the sweet potato bites from the pan. And you can then serve them.

These are the three appetizer recipes. Enjoy them and have a great Thanksgiving!
